Here is my weight loss news and research from around the web – part 3
Scientific Weight Loss Tips
I read an excellent article on scientific weight loss tips and wanted to pass it on to you. These weight loss tips are very much in line with what I have been talking about on this site. Great points about not looking for the magic button to lose weight, balancing your in and out calories, not eating too much at a time or skipping meals, and eating larger quantities of low calorie, high nutrient foods like broccoli. Of course, increasing your physical activity, cutting out sugary drinks and increasing fiber intake are important as well. Best of all, you can lose weight without starving yourself.
Work Out Myths
I am reading more these days about the importance of dynamic flexibility exercises to prepare your muscles for a workout. I definitely prefer general mobility exercises like lunges and jumping jacks to get the juices flowing before a workout. I think the static stretches are good for after the workout.
The Best Weight Loss Exercise
I found an encouraging video that keeps it simple with weight loss workouts. In fact, its so simple that…it’s walking. Yes, if you are discouraged about starting a workout program, start by walking. Walking is the perfect exercise, because everything is moving and it’s low impact. Walking also helps burn fat stores and releases fat-soluble antioxidant vitamins for use by the body.
Also, here is a link to http://trails.com, which was mentioned on the video as a great place to find walking trails near where you live.
Fast Weight Loss For Upcoming Family Events
I know a lot of people have found themselves in this situation before. There is a family wedding coming up, a suit or dress in the closet, and you can’t fit into it! Oh no, you have got to lose weight fast! But how do you do it the right way? First of all, I recommend that you use this as an opportunity to get started on a long-term, healthy weight loss plan so that you never find yourself in this situation again. What ever you do, don’t starve yourself, this won’t work. Your body will just slow your metabolism down in response and you won’t keep the weight off.
My advice. Cut out the fake foods with refined sugars and up the intake of fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains. Next, add a couple of short, but intense, interval workouts a week. Here is an article giving expanding on this and giving some specific advice on the workouts:
